Words can't express how I feel right now, but I can honestly say it hurts my heart, To know that you are gonna so soon.  you are an amazing man as well as a wonderful boss and very understanding and kind person.  out of all the jobs that I've had I can truly say that you were my favorite boss that I ever came across.  sleep in peace, my friend. and to his family, my prayers and my condolences go out to you

Mr. Fani co-taught my sixth grade math class at IS34 many years ago.  All of us kids thought he was one of the nicest and most easy going people we had ever met.  It deeply saddens me to hear he passed so young.  God bless the family.  

My heart bleeds with all of you.  Billy was a true gentleman.  Had the pleasure of working with him and it was great.

Billy and I first met at a very young age when he approached me playing in a sandbox at the bottom of my parents’ driveway. Since that time we spent countless hours together — playing in our homes, playing outside and we even took karate lessons together. I vividly remember our Saturday mornings, when we would watch Pee Wee’s Playhouse on TV and swap ceramic animal figurines that came inside boxes of tea. We walked to school together and were the very best of childhood friends. 

Billy, my friend, you will truly be missed. May you Rest In Peace brother and may the light and love of those that were all around you protect your little girl Ryan. Our very deepest condolences to the Fani Family.

We are his Peruvian family. When we met Billy, he immediately kindly exchanged popular Spanish words to make us feel welcomed and showing an honest perspective on how to improve the current system education so his students would have better chances succeeding in life, knowing about other views of the world. He was always outspoken, daring, with good humor and that is the way we will remember him. His precious legacy is sweet baby Ryan and a strong cherished family.

Billy was my friend and neighbor growing up.  Our childhoods were filled with sports, laughter and the love of our families. I will look back at the time I spent with Billy and the Fani family with great regard.

Bill Fani was an amazing teacher, and an incredible co-worker and friend.  We had many wonderful work experiences, and great conversations that I will always remember and treasure. He had a huge heart and truly loved his friends, his family, his wife Erin, and his baby daughter Ryan.  He really made a difference in many lives and I am deeply saddened by his untimely passing.

I was assistant coach at Curtis where Billy played.  All me and him did was laugh. He came into a game to pitch and shut down one of the best Farrel baseball teams ever to get the win.  Incredible memory. I called him "sporks" because he taught me how to play it.  Billy "Sporks" my man we will meet again!
