Born in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, Mr. Casamassima relocated to Great Kills in 1979.
He was a truck driver for Faztec Industries, a New York State and New York City approved fill material transfer station in Bloomfield.
A graduate of New Utrecht High School, Brooklyn, Mr. Casamassima enjoyed watching movies, especially comedies.
According to his family, he enjoyed spending time at home and was a loving and spiritual family man.
Mr. Casamassima and his wife, the former Kathy Whitney, would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary Sept. 28.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Casamassima is survived by two daughters, Chrissy Pritchett and Kimberly Casamassima; two grandchildren; his mother, Diane Casamassima, and two sisters, Corinne Venturino and MaryEllen Pannone.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
