Cesare Cappucci

He was the loving brother of Edward (Joy); beloved grandfather of Blair Petersen and Thomas Benevento, and dear longtime companion of Roseann Miele.

Charles was predeceased by his wife, Lillian, his daughters, Barbara Petersen and Claire Benevento and his grandson, Brian Benevento .

Born and raised in East Harlem, he came to Staten Island in the 1950's. Charlie as he was known was a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a retired lieutenant with the NYPD. After retirement he was the sales manager of Staten Island Toyota.

An avid reader, especially of Shakespeare and other noteworthy poets, he also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Italy and Sicily were among his favorite destinations. He loved to play poker and was very successful in his game. Charlie was a partner in the Caves nightclub and a member of Community Board 3 .

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave., Castleton Corners . Committal will be private .
