

Dennis P. Sullivan passed away at his home in Staten Island N.Y. on Monday, September 15, 2025. He was born on March 25, 1928, in Bayonne, New Jersey, and moved to Staten Island in 1935. He was the son of Denis and Mary Ellen Sullivan of Henderson Avenue. He attended St. Paul’s elementary school and Curtis High School. Dennis enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Shanghai and Tsing Tao, China on LST-1102. He was a member of VFW Post 7172. After his discharge, Dennis met the love of his life Lorraine McCahill. Dennis and Lorraine married in St. Peter’s Church in 1957 and celebrated many loving years together until Lorraine’s passing in 2023. Dennis served in the New York City Transit Authority as a Power Station operator for 38 years. Upon retirement, Dennis enjoyed his leisure time, loved working with his cars, and enjoyed exploring and taking trips. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society and loved attending church with Lorraine at Blessed Sacrament. Dennis and Lorraine traveled to Ireland and were able to visit with family there. They also loved their Sunday drives and trips to New Jersey. Dennis is predeceased by his beloved wife Lorraine where they are together again in Heaven. He was a loving father to his children Maureen Smith (Dave), Dennis Sullivan (Irene), Patrick Sullivan (Mary) and Eileen Christie (Kevin). Dennis was a loving grandfather to Danny, Timmy and Kerry Smith, Katherine, Erin and Clare Sullivan and Patrick and Brendan Sullivan. Dennis was also blessed to be the loving great-grandfather of Kayleigh, Ezra, Madilyn and Talia. Dennis is also survived by his sister Anna Smith and pre-deceased by sister Helen Shanley and Patricia McGuire.

Visitation for family and friends at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue, Staten Island NY on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on September 19, 2025, in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1091 Forrest Avenue, Staten Island NY.
