Dorothy J. Donovan

Dorothy Jayne Donovan passed away at the age of 65, with her children by her side. Dorothy, known as Dot or Dotsie to most, was born October 2, 1956. Dorothy was a graduate of the 1974 class of Susan Wagner HS. She went on to achieve a degree in Radiology Technology at French and Polyclinic Hospital. She became a Radiology Technician at H.I.P. Medical Center on Staten Island and was dedicated to helping patients with cancer. She relocated to Northampton, MA and then to West Hartford, CT. where she had both her of her children respectively. Dorothy had razor wit and was an avid reader, and fiercely proud of her Irish roots. She loved the beach, her cup of Earl Grey Tea and Rock-n-Roll, with the band The Who as her favorite. She was a lifelong, committed participant for causes related to Ireland and Native Americans, and was a champion of the downtrodden. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Morgan Mattia and son Matthew Mattia, her sister Donna Donovan and brother Steven Donovan. The viewing will be held at Casey's Funeral Home from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, October 7, 2022, with a Mass at St. Teresa's Church on Saturday, October 8, 2022, 10:45am
