Eileen M. Stahlnecker was born on August 9th, 1976 to the parents of Deacon James (Jim) and Jean Ann Stahlnecker. Eileen passed away surrounded by her loving family on the morning of September 2nd, 2025 at University Hospital in Staten Island, NY. During her early life Eileen was a proud member and alumni of the old St. Mary's Parish in Port Richmond, NY. She loved participating in all the church events/activities where her mother, Jean Ann, taught CCD. She was also an alumni of Port Richmond's High School, class of 1994, NY. Following in the successful footsteps of her Father, Deacon Jim Stahlnecker, Eileen worked at Merrill Lynch for many years. She was an Assistant Vice President for Merrill Lynch, where she flourished in her career, even handling international connections and accounts.
At home, Eileen Stahlnecker embodied the spirit of love and sacrifice beyond boundaries. She was a devoted Mom full of agape, sacrificial love. Eileen always made every family member feel deeply appreciated, valued and loved. She not only took care of her family's every need, but she also did the extraordinary- did everything possible to lavish family with compassion that knew no limits. Whether it was a small personalized birthday gift, hosting an amazing family gathering event, affirming family members when they needed encouragement, cooking delicious meals for 'family meal times', fun family adventures or just her loving 'heart to heart' talks. She was a tireless giver to all as well as a loving caregiver to her Father during his later years of life. Yet Eileen's big heart also extended beyond just the family unit. She even made people in the community feel touched by love and compassion. For example, she would often help the homeless, community outcasts and or friends in need. She had a rare gift of being welcoming and warm to everyone and would strike up conversations with people from all walks of life. She frequently blessed the community often during holidays when she took the family caroling to bring joy to the lonely and elderly in local nursing homes.
She leaves behind her four beloved children Christopher Hernandez (wife Kelly), Alexandra Hernandez, Jason Hernandez and Brian Hernandez. Her husband, Marco Hernandez, brother Joseph Stahlnecker (wife Leslie), nieces & nephews Kayla, Matthew, Robert, and Joseph Jr., Aunt Maryanne (husband Kevin), Aunt Joanne and much extended family and friends. Lastly, she was the proud Mom of the family's furriest member and protector, little Julie, the Shih Tzu.
St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta said "Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action." Eileen Stahlnecker was a loving mother at home and embodied the best of love in action!
The motherly angel that has touched lives in so many ways has finally spread her wings and has flown to Christ. Eileen M. Stahlnecker what earth has lost, heaven has surely gained. We will love and cherish you always.
1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
