

He graduated from Pace University and worked as a statistical editor for the Daily Racing Form for many years. After marrying the love of his life Dolores, together they had 3 daughters and moved to Great Kills in 1971. He was altruistic to his core, intelligent, quick witted, humorous beyond compare and firm in his ideals and love; he enjoyed watching sports, reading, crossword puzzles, and being outdoors. Above all Fred lived for the time spent with those he loved; he was the cornerstone for his family, the best husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. The cherished husband of 66 years to Dolores (née Salsano), beloved father to Linda (Michael) Coppolo, Laura (Gary) Candrilli, and Elaine (Frank) DiTommaso, endeared grandfather to Amanda (Christian), Kristen (Michael), Kayla, Michael, Fred, Frank, Olivia, and 5 great-grandchildren; loving brother to Nicholas (Josephine) Cicero, Joseph (Bernadine) Cicero, Camille (Emmanuel) Darmanin, and Marie Ann (Leonard) Eidlen.
Visitation will be held at Casey-McCallum Rice Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, on October 12th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Clare Church, 110 Nelson Avenue, on October 13th, at 11:00 am.
