

Guido Manzo, 86 Lifelong Staten Island resident Guido Manzo, 86, a lifelong Staten Island resident, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016. Mr. Manzo was born and raised in Rosebank and was a graduate of New Dorp High School. He was a presser in the garment industry and worked for many different factories on the Island. In later years he was the owner of Guido's Tavern on Bay Street, Staten Island. He was a proud member of the Rosebank Boys Club. He was the son of the late Catherine and Nicola Manzo. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Rose. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Ciro, Paul, Anthony and Robert. Guido is survived by his daughter, Rose and her husband, Tom, as well as his grandchildren, Matthew, his wife Carolyn, Katherine and Christopher Fonte. He is also survived by his loving sister, Louise; her husband, Lester, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family at Virginia Funeral Home in Staten Island, N.Y. Visiting hours will be Saturday, Aug. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass celebrating his life will be held at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Rosebank, Staten Island, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise of Lincroft, N.J., for their continuous love, care and support.
