Helen Blake

Lifelong Westerleigh resident, Helen Blake,86, passed away January 29, 2022. Born Helen Gorman on June 28, 1935 at home on Livermore Avenue. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Bobby Ray Blake; a daughter Cheryl and husband Robert Farrell; sister Joan Morton; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her son Robert and his wife Judy Blake; brother and sister in law James and Barbara Gorman; brother in law Earl Morton. Helen graduated from Port Richmond High School. She worked as a secretary for the Army Medical Reserve on the Fort Hamilton Base in Brooklyn. Helen met the love of her life on their shared birthday. Lovingly referred to as “doll”, Helen enjoyed spending time with her large family and many friends. Helen loved life. Countless memories were made while vacationing in North Carolina. Helen will be missed.

A visitation for Helen will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1091 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310. A committal service will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 52 Tyler Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310.
