

Born Helen Mazzone in New Brighton, she graduated from Curtis High School. In her later years, she relocated to St. George.
In 1972, Mrs. Pietrangelo began working as a compensation supervisor for Hartford Insurance in Manhattan. She retired in 1991.
Mrs. Pietrangelo was a former member of the Trumpeteers, a social club on Grymes Hill, and the Castleton Hill Moravian AARP chapter.
She enjoyed time at the beach and taking cruises, having traveled to Alaska, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Costa Rica. Mrs. Pietangelo was an avid bowler who was constantly seen with her bowling ball and member of several bowling leagues on the Island.
“My aunt lived her life to the fullest never regreting anything,” said her niece, Diane Saldibar. “She wished that everyone else could experience what she had in her life.”
She was a parishoner of Our Lady Good Counsel R.C. Church, Tompkinsville.
Her brothers, Luis and Raymond, both died in 1997.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Rita’s R.C. Church, Meiers Corners. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Brighton.
