

Hank Pedro died on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, with his family by his side in New York City. The funeral services will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Casey Funeral Home. Hank was born on Staten Island on Nov. 4, 1943. He graduated from Port Richmond High School and Wagner College, where he blossomed into a local hometown sports hero in basketball and baseball. Among his many accomplishments, Hank is still remembered for sinking the winning basket against then No. 4 nationally ranked NYU in the mid-1960s. Hank was inducted into the Wagner College Hall of Fame as one of the scoring greats in the history of the school. Hank worked as an insurance agent for Emblem Health for the past 15 years. He was an avid golfer and family man. He was very active in the community, especially with the Police Athletic League youth activities in the 1970s and 1980s. He is survived by his sister, Donna; sons, Gregory, Scott, and Marcus; daughter, Lauren and her husband, Lance; and grandchildren, Christopher, Justine, Jeffrey, and Landon; and his niece, Rachel Bradford.
