

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Longtime Great Kills resident Irene H. Wall, 63, a homemaker and volunteer who will be remembered for her devotion to her family, died Thursday at home.
Born Irene H. Ward in Brooklyn, she moved with her family to Great Kills when she was nine-years old and remained a resident of that community.
She graduated from Tottenville High School.
Mrs. Wall volunteered as a soccer coach at St. Clare's School and also coached at Great Kills Little League.
She was fond of gardening and listening to country music. In addition she enjoyed listening to singer Elvis Presley.
Mrs. Wall enjoyed being with her family, she lived for her children and grandchildren, family said.
She had a big heart and was a loving mother, they added.
Mrs. Wall was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert; her three sons, Robert, Richard and Raymond; her daughter, Marion Wall; her brother, Warren Ward; her four sisters, Susan Chipman, Jane Cleveland; Margaret Bossert and Anna Mohan and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Clare's Church, both in Great Kills. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
