James Thoma, age 83, of Staten Island, New York passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. James was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 12, 1940. Graduated from Brooklyn Tech was on Army Reservist during the early 1960's.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Barbara. Survived by his daughter Deborah Ellicott, and 2 grandchildren Bryan John Ellicott and Brandon Ellicott. Also survived, his sister Florence Poelker.
James retired from Chase Manhattan Bank in 1998.
James loved to hunt, camp, was a champion archer. He built and flew model airplanes. Was always involved in many clubs. James was a 3rd degree Knight with Stolzenthaler Knights of Columbus. He was involved in his grandsons Boy Scouts Pack & Troop 6 Staten Island, NY.
He also squared danced with his wife.
