

Born in Manhattan, he moved with his family as a child to Willowbrook. He also lived in Sunnyside and West Brighton before settling in Concord in 2005.
Mr. Scarpaty graduated from Curtis High School.
He worked as a supervisor for the NYC Transit Authority for 30 years, until retiring in 1973.
He loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed gardening and watching the New York Yankees on television. Mr. Scarpaty possessed the ability to fix anything, said his family. He also was also a talented woodworker, they said.
He belonged to Rab's Senior Bowling League.
His wife of 59 years, the former Rose Curitore, died in 1995.
Surviving are his two granddaughters and three great-granddaughters.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Tompkinsville. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
