

Josephine (Gargiulo) Argento was born on April 29, 1933. She was one of 8 siblings, Frank, John, Tony, Carlo, Rudy, Evelyn and Vinny. Married at 18 to Peter Argento, they began their married life on Bay 8th Street, Brooklyn, New York, where she lived until moving to Todt Hill, Staten Island, to raise her family in 1967. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and the foundation and heart of her family. Josephine was married for 64 years to Peter Argento until his passing on June 23, 2015. She leaves behind her three sons, Peter, Jim and Joseph Argento, and daughter in laws Elise, Mary, and Lisa, as well as eight grandchildren, Jenna Dapolito, James Argento, Alec Argento, Peter Argento, Lauren Argento, Joseph Argento, Jessica Argento and Julianne Argento and four Great Grandchildren, Emma, Liam, Ella, and Thomas, as well as one brother, Vincent. Most recently Josephine was a resident at Sunrise Assisted Living, where she lived until her passing on November 28, 2024. She was an active parishioner of St. Teresa church in Staten Island, where she attended daily mass and prayed the rosary. She loved Atlantic City, was an amazing cook, and wonderful listener who was loved by all. She will be remembered lovingly by her family and friends.
A visitation for Josephine will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A visitation will occur Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 6, 2024 at 9:30 AM at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1634 Victory Blvd, New York, NY 10314. A committal service will occur Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, New York, NY 10306.
