

Born Lidia Valverde in Guayaquil, Ecuador, she immigrated to the United States in 1968, moving to Manhattan. She settled in Heartland Village in 1974.
Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Jewish Community Center.
A baseball fan, she enjoyed watching the New York Yankees on television with her sons-in-law.
Artistic and creative, she liked to draw. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing and shopping. She especially loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
Mrs. Sanchez was a parishioner of St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Richmond.
Manuel, her husband of 52 years, died in 2011.
Surviving are her daughters, Magaly Perez, Sandra Marrelli and Karina Sanchez; two brothers, Francisco and Xavier Vera; three sisters, Teresa Martoral and Maria and Ana Valverde, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
