Lucy Geha, known lovingly as LuLu, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2026, in Staten Island, New York. Born in Brooklyn on August 14,1948, she lived a life defined by devotion, creativity, quiet resilience and unbreakable strength.
Early in life, Lucy took great pride in her work as an LPN, a role that helped shape her character and fueled her love for caring for others. She later built a career as a bookkeeper, approaching every day with dedication, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Her resilience was evident throughout her life, including her courageous battle with cancer, something she faced with determination and strength. As a single mother, she was fiercely devoted to her children and always wanted the very best for them. She was always deeply proud of her three children and spoke of them often, wanting nothing more than for them to be strong, healthy, happy, and loved. Those years were not always easy, yet even during the hardest moments, the home she created was always filled with love, closeness, and perseverance.
Those who knew her will remember her as a woman of courage, warmth, dignity and pride. She had a way of making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for. Everyone that knew her will always remember the warmth, humor, and energy she brought into a room. She was always someone you could count on in any situation and someone who would tell it like it was.
Lucy was also well known for her time in the kitchen, where she lovingly prepared great multicultural meals that brought family and friends together. Her cooking was more than a skill, for it was an expression of love and hospitality. The meals she made carried the flavor of tradition and the warmth of her heart. She was especially known for her "S" cookies, baklava and stuffed cabbage. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafting of any kind, playing cards and shopping with friends. One of her greatest passions was traveling around Europe and leisurely stays in the Amish country.
Lucy loved the holidays and the traditions that came with them. Whether it was Christmas where she took great pride in finding just the right gift, Halloween where she hand sewed costumes, Thanksgiving where she made the best candied yams, or Easter where she instilled her Syrian tradition, She loved bringing family together through food, decorating, laughter, and making memories with the people she loved most. Time spent with her grandchildren brought her great joy, and everyone looked forward to visiting “Nani's” house, where there was always food, laughter, and love waiting for them. To her family, home was never just a place — it was a feeling she created.
She is survived by her three loving children, Joseph Boljonis (Tara), Gina Boljonis, Edward Boljonis (Michelle), her five adoring Grandchildren, Brooke, Rebecca (Paul), Edward (Josephine), Joseph, Nicholas, her 2 affectionate Great Grandchildren, Adrian, Eleanor, Her sister Nancy, brother Alfred, Her life sisters Antoinette, Fran, her daughter from the heart, Honolee as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews and a circle of friends that knew no bounds.
She was predeceased by her Parents, Sam and Jennie and siblings Ruth, Jackie and Phil.
Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she shared remains as a lasting gift to all who were blessed to know her. She left a footprint on this earth that could never be replaced and memories that can never be erased.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Staten Island Care Center and The Center for Cancer Care for their care and compassion.
