

Mario Nucci, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Born on June 25, 1952, in St. George, Staten Island, to the late Felice and Mary Nucci. He graduated from McKee High School and spent his career working in maintenance for MetLife in Manhattan, where his hard work and reliability left a lasting impact.
For many years, Mario called Stapleton his home, where he was affectionately known as the "Mayor of Van Duzer" by neighbors and friends. His love of being around people, sharing stories, and connecting with everyone he met made him a beloved figure in the community. Later in life, Mario settled in Somerset, New Jersey, where his vibrant personality continued to shine.
Mario had a passion for cooking and took great pleasure in preparing meals always with warmth and love. He was also an avid watch collector and had a unique skill for fixing clocks, a hobby that reflected his patience and attention to detail.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, Phillip, and another brother, Edward. Mario is survived by his loving family: his niece, Marisa Nucci; his nephew, Gene Ashwal; and his sister-in-law, Carol Nucci. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Mario will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey-McCallum Rice Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. Family and friends are invited to gather in memory of Mario and celebrate the wonderful life he lived.
