Namagiri Rajagopalan

Educator, native of India, 'her love was selfless and endless' Mrs Namagiri Rajagopalan passed on April 18th, 2022 at 8.10 am in Staten Island Hospital after a brief illness. She was the mother of Radha Syed, Sridhar Rajagopalan, Kasturi Rajagopalan and late Rajagopalan Balaji; grandmother of Dr. SYRAJ Syed , Srisailesh Sridhar, Shalini Rangan, Dr Sunandini Sridhar, Anant Rangan Esq, Neerja Balaji, and great-grandmother of Myles Arjuna Syed, Ila Chakravarthy, Vibha Chakravarthy. She also leaves her daughters-in law, Vijaylakshmi Sridhar, Nirmala Rangan, Kamala Balaji, grandsons- n law, Sumanth Chakravarthy, Abhishek Gupta; and granddaughters- in-law, Alison McMurray Syed, and Suchita Sridhar. Mrs. Namagiri Rajagopalan was a Masters in English Literature and Double Bachelors Arts and Education. She was born in India and taught English Literature to high school students for 25 years in a private school, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi, India. She loved life, adventure travel and people ! She settled in the US in 1995 in New York when all her children moved here. She became an inspiration to all who came across her because of the person she was - she had so much love to give, selfless and endless- all without expectations! She was the picture of courage and fortitude recovering from many hospitalizations and continuing to stay independent with determination ! She will be missed by all of her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy ! Viewing and "Homam " (religious service) is on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 9 to 11;30 a.m. at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave , Staten Island , New York 10314. Tel 718-447-4242.
