

Born and raised Patricia A. Piacente in Brooklyn, she graduated from Catherine McAuley High School there. She lived in Brooklyn until 2004, when she moved to Meiers Corners to live with her daughter, Diana Diaz. Due to ill health, she had resided in New Vanderbilt Rehabilitation and Care Center, Clifton, since 2012.
Mrs. Kowalski loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor that was enjoyed by many, her family said. And she was a wonderful cook whose special tomato sauce was delicious, they added.
While living with her daughter, Diana, she attended St. Rita’s R.C. Church, Meiers Corners.
Her husband of 20 years, John, died in 2009.
Surviving, along with her daughter, are her son, John, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Rita’s Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
