

Born in Manhattan, he moved to Dongan Hills with his family as a young child. He lived in Travis, Bulls Head and Prince's Bay before relocating to Toms River in 1996.
A 1946 graduate of the McKee High School, Mr. Maglione was a private first class in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan from 1946-1948. Prior to enlisting in the Army, he served in the State Guard, also known as the state military reserves, for less than a year.
Mr. Maglione worked for 20 years as a bus driver for the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA).
In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, the former Miriam Donaghy, who died in 2002, and by his daughter, Diane Dragotta, who died in 1981. In addition, he is predeceased by his grandsons, Joseph P. Dragotta in 1982, Joseph A. Aspromonte in 2000 and Philip D. Maglione in 2012.
He is survived by his son, John; his daughters, Patricia Lamantia, Susan Halligan and Cynthia Aspromonte; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday, from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's R.C. Church, both Dongan Hills. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood
