

Richard Abondolo of Long Island originally from Staten Island passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 24th. He is survived by his wife Gail (Stevens), his beloved daughters Deana (Mark Telmany) and Jackie (Anthony Serpico) his mother (Anna) and his 3 beautiful grandchildren Evy Marie, Nickolas & Stella. He is also survived by his two sisters Theresa (Brian Martin) & Susan (Brian Gabel) Brothers in law Ronald, Craig (Melissa), Robert (Cheryl) and Sister in law Debbie (Walter), Mother in Law (Lucy) and many loving nieces and nephews.
Richard began his career as a Union organizer for the United Food and Commercial Worker’s Union Local 342 where he worked for over 40 years eventually becoming President up until his passing. Richard was truly dedicated to his job and the members of Local 342, however, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family especially his 3 grandchildren who he loved and adored. When he wasn’t working he loved spending time in the kitchen where he continued to carry on family recipes and traditions with his two daughters who were the light of his life.
Due to concerns surrounding covid-19, wake services will be reserved for immediate family only, however, the Funeral service will be open to those who wish to pay their respects. Funeral information is as follows: Thursday December 3rd at 11:15am at St. Clare’s Church located at 110 Nelson Avenue. Please note, due to capacity restrictions there will be a limited number of attendees allowed in the church. If the church meets the capacity, there will be a virtual streaming option in one of the overflow parking lots.
