

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Lifelong Staten Islander Robert Nolan, 59, of Meiers Corners, a retired mechanic who loved going on trips to Disney World with his wife, died Friday in Calvary Hospital, the Bronx.
Born and raised in Concord, he graduated from Curtis High School.
He and his wife, Patricia, settled in Meiers Corners after their marriage.
Mr. Nolan worked as a mechanic for the New York State Waterfront Commission. He retired in 1992.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking, cooking and baking.
"He was a loving person, and was always there to help anyone he could. He will be greatly missed," Mrs. Nolan said.
Surviving, along with Patricia, his wife of 24 years, are his father, William, and his brothers, Gary and David.
The funeral service will be Tuesday in the Christian Pentecostal Church, Concord. Arrangements, including cremation, are being handled by the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners.
