Bobs first wife was married to my sister thats why i know alot of memories about him he was a very likeable person very funny would keep people laughing family still speak of him often and through the years Bob will always be missed    Iris

I have been thinking of Bob and his family for a long time and upon doing research I came across this page.  I have to say that my heart is broken as I never had the opportunity to tell him how special of a good person he was. 
 Bob was one of my neighbors when my family and I lived in building C4 on the 4th Floor in Starrett City in Brooklyn, NY.  I remember when his son was born in the early 90's which was around the same time that my brothers were born.  I have old video footage of him coming over and wishing my father a Happy Birthday.  My fondest memory however is the time that Bob took me to the Navy Yard and had my name engraved so I could pretend that I was a Navy Police Officer.  He also gave me a dark pair of real- handcuffs similar to the ones that they used in the military.   
 Anything to make a kid's day!  That is what he was about!  Bob had a special heart, and I am sad to have learned this news!    Best, Joey Povlosky

2 yrs ago I started on dialysis n I had the pleasure sitting across from bob not knowing that we had the first name n the same birthday we called each other 23 4 times a day we talk about wrestling n sports last Sunday morning I flew to Tampa Florida to get on the kidney list I spoke to him like 3 times n on Monday I was on the phone 3 times  on Tuesday while in Tampa I received the phone call from his son Chris I was screaming no no  hysterical crying on Sunday afternoon I went to the wake I broke down crying at the casket it was an honored to have known  u my friend RIP I’m sitting here at Diaylias crying for u

It's times like this when you look back on all the memories growing up. Bob was my older brother who loved being outdoors and playing sports. He left at a young age to go into the Navy. Although we was only 17 he looked so handsome in his uniform. He didn't visit often but I remember when he came to visit and show us his beautiful sons Robbie and Michael.  He will be remembered lovely from everyone who knew him. I only wish we all had more time together as a family throughout the years. But fond memories will not fade and i will think of him often as that young man in his uniform.

Nothing I can say but I miss my brother Bobby all the things we did together things I can't tell people about crazy crazy things as young boys. One of the later memories was when I had a big dance performance Bobby came backstage punch me in the arm before I went on stage that hurt but what felt great was hearing him screaming my name at the end of my performance above everyone that's Bobby. Things that people don't know about Bobby at the young age he was an incredible athlete had incredible endurance and he had an amazing arm being able to throw that ball further than anyone even though he was the biggest and strongest of all he actually was the most sensitive of all of us he took things really hard with that hard exterior he tried to hide all of his feelings but I knew he took it the hardest especially when our mom died Bobby I love you and I know Chris Angela Robbie Michael they love you too rest in peace my brother

To my big brother Bobby.  I was still a young child when you left to join the Navy.  You were gone for a lot of my childhood, yet we always kept in touch.  We could go years without contact and then in just one phone call it was as if no time had passed.
    These last few years especially with me dealing with kidney disease, I would call you late at night from the hospital to get encouragement from you, on how you dealt with dialysis.
You always had a very positive outlook about it and gave me strength by your attitude.  I knew you were just a phone call away whenever 
my many health scares became too much and I needed my big brother to talk to.
    I will truly miss you.  Rest in peace Bobby,  I love you, your little sis Marion

It’s truly hard to wrap our heads around the  fact that you won’t be on your stoop watching the kids play outside and talking to all of us, your neighbors.  We will miss your sense of humor the most.  Rest easy Bob…heaven has gained a great neighbor.  We pray for Angela and Chris to find comfort and strength during this difficult time.

Deepest Condolences and most sincere prayers to Angela, Chris, and your family. Our hearts go out to you. Bob was like the Mayor of the block. Always ready with a conversation or a funny story. He’ll be missed for sure. Now he can converse with my beloved Jesse and The Angels. May Bob Rest Peacefully in God’s Eternal Paradise.
