

Ronald A. DeMartini, 81, passed away on May 2, 2026. Born on July 12, 1944, in Manhattan, Ronald was raised there before moving in 1971 to Great Kills, Staten Island, where he made his home and remained a proud presence in the community.
A devoted public servant and accomplished professional, Ronald worked for the Port Authority of NY/NJ for 32 years, building a career marked by steady commitment, thoughtful leadership, and care for the work entrusted to him. He later continued his service and expertise at NYU as a Senior Project Manager Engineer. Throughout his life, Ronald carried himself with quiet faith and a compassionate spirit that left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege to know him.
Ronald was also a proud Army veteran who served in Viet Nam. His service reflected the same steadfast devotion and sense of responsibility that defined the rest of his life, and it will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lucille; his daughters, Janine DeMartini and Andrea Sacco; his grandsons, Giovanni DeMartini and Joseph Sacco; and his granddaughter, Isabella DeMartini. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph, and sister-in-law, Lisa DeMartini; his sister, Toni, and his brother-in-law, Jeff Epstein. He is lovingly remembered as well by his nephews, David and Blake Epstein.
In his personal life, Ronald found genuine enjoyment in model railroading and was a member of the Staten Island Society of Model Railroads. In that pastime, many saw the kind-hearted patience and gentle attentiveness that were so characteristic of his qualities that made him cherished by family and friends alike.
Ronald will be remembered with enduring love for his faithful heart, his compassionate presence, and the devoted way he cared for those around him.
