Ronnie was born to Anthony and Mary Masciana on December 5, 1936. He grew up in Brooklyn, where he attended school and later began his career as a longshoreman in Red Hook. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Ronnie served 2 years in the Army, dedicating himself to his country.
Upon returning, Ronnie was blessed to meet the love of his life, Eleanor (Campolo). The two married shortly thereafter in 1963, and in the years that followed, they welcomed two sons whom they loved deeply. Ronnie and Eleanor enjoyed a happy life together in Great Kills, Staten Island, with cherished visits to their beach house in Manahawkin, New Jersey. They had 30 beautiful years together until her passing.
After surviving major medical hardships later in his life, Ronnie displayed incredible strength both physically and mentally. A tough, proud, and independent man, he continued to live his life, exercising, enjoying long walks, and meeting his friends for breakfast well into his 80s.
While Ronnie was a firm man, he also had a tender side reserved for his family. Ronnie was a loving grandfather who had a unique ability to make his family laugh, whether it was through his notorious sweet tooth or the “grandpa cookies” he brought over for Sunday dinners and holidays. Ronnie had a special way with animals – his son’s dogs adored spending time with him, and his face would light up whenever they greeted him.
After 32 years, Ronnie is now reunited with the love of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, and is survived by his two loving sons Anthony (Jacqueline) Masciana and Christopher Masciana; his three grandchildren, Alexandra, Lauryn, and Christopher; and many loving family members.
Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love through his children and family. He will always be remembered and missed by those who loved him.
