Saba G. Fesehaye

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Saba Fesehaye, a beloved mother, grandmother, teacher, and cherished member of our family and Eritrean community. Saba was born in Asmara, Eritrea to loving parents Fesehaye Gebremariam and Tiblez Tesfaldet. She began her early education at the Italian School at Santa Famiglia and later pursued her studies in Ragioneria (accounting) at Bottego. After graduation, she found her true calling as a kindergarten teacher in Asmara, Eritrean nurturing young minds with extraordinary patience and care.

In 1995, Saba immigrated to the United States where she worked as a nanny and helping kids while raising her four children in New York City. She later lovingly divided her time between New York and Cincinnati, Ohio caring for her grandchildren and continuing to be the pillar of strength and warmth to her family, friends and community.

Her resilience and courage were remarkable, but after a courageous battle with her illness she peacefully left us on September 17, 2025.

Saba is survived by her children: Bisirat, Milka, Hurey, Kaleb and her grandchildren Michael, Emmanuel, Mie and Hana. Her memory and love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

May Saba rest in eternal peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in the love she so freely gave throughout her life and her faith in Christ.
