

Born and raised in Castleton Corners, he moved to Port Richmond in 1997.
Mr. Knubbert graduated from The Francis School in Great Kills.
For many years, he was a mechanic on tugboats in St. George. In 2007, he began working in building maintenance at Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Castleton Corners.
Mr. Knubbert was a talented athlete and enjoyed playing softball, always wearing No. 14 on his uniform shirts. He played for the Dugout Pub in Port Richmond and in the Beer Garden Men’s League. He also played softball and pool for the Ground Level Moose Lodge in Port Richmond.
He was absolutely devoted to his daughter, Arianna.
“He would do anything for her,” said his wife, the former Michele Palermo.
Mr. Knubbert drove his daughter to school and had breakfast with her every day. They also enjoyed bowling together.
Surviving, along with his wife, Michele, and daughter, Arianna, are his mother, Maureen Knubbert; his brother, Sean, and his sister, Tara Knubbert-Miller.
The funeral was to be today from the Casey Funeral Home, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Teresa’s R.C. Church, both Castleton Corners. Arrangements include cremation.
