

Born Virginia A. Britton in Brooklyn, she settled in Rossville in 1989.
Mrs. McNeil worked for more than 30 years as a cafeteria worker for the city Department of Education. assigned for more than 20 years to the Franklin K. Lane High School, Brooklyn. She also worked at a Very Special Place before completing her career at the Hungerford School, Clifton, and retiring in 2002.
She graduated from Dominican Commercial High School, Queens.
Mrs. McNeil was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph-St. Thomas R.C. parish, Pleasant Plains, and a former parishioner of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Brooklyn.
Mrs. McNeil enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and took care of them when their mother was ill.
Her husband of 43 years, John A., died in 1992.
Surviving are two sons, John and Kenneth; two daughters, Kathleen Amati and Eileen Setteducato; six grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot. Burial will be in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn.
