

Allen was born in Beaufort, SC and had lived in Statesboro since 1960. He was a 1974 graduate of Statesboro High School and served in the United States Air Force as a Paratrooper. Allen worked in the construction industry as a builder and plumber and attended Statesboro First United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Allen was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Blanchette and his step-father, C. M. Boatman.
Allen is survived by his mother, Martha Lanier Blanchette Boatman of Statesboro; son, Joseph Blanchette of Statesboro; daughter, Brooke Dominy of Haleiwa, HI; brother, Robert Blanchette of Claxton; step-brother, Larry Boatman and his wife, Pam of Jupiter, FL; sisters, Sherry Goodwin and her husband, Tom of Canton, CT; Sheila Roach and her husband, Bob of Austin, TX; Shey Walsh and her husband, Tom of Richmond Hill; Shelda Baumann and her husband, Steve of Chuluota, FL and Sherice Blanchette of Statesboro; step-sister, Joyce Joiner of Statesboro and Carol Osweiler of Williamsburg, VA; 2 grandsons; former wife, Vanee Tillman Blanchette of Augusta; special cousin, Tonya Pierce and her husband, Claude of Brooklet; many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 1:30 to 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home, followed by a 3:00 PM memorial service in the chapel officiated by Reverend Jimmy Cason.
Burial will be held privately in Eastside Cemetery.
