

Gary Emory Morris, age 52, died Tuesday at his home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was a native of Chatham County and moved to Stilson at an early age. He was a glazer in early years but drove a truck for many years. He enjoyed playing softball and was a devoted Christian. He spent a lot of hours reading his Bible. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Emory Morris and Betty Brown Morris Sheppard, and his first wife, H. Montiece Stalcup Morris.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny Shuman Morris of Stilson; six children, Kelli (Danny) Dickerson of Brooklet, Emory (Holley) Morris of Savannah, Kay (Gilbert) Tillman of Stilson, Whitney Shuman, Trevor Mason, and Katelyn Mason, all of Stilson; six grandchildren; aunts and uncles, Mae Bartleson, Junior Brown, Johnny Brown, Gerald Brown, James Brown, and Mark Brown.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Visitation will also be held Friday at Old Fellowship Baptist Church from 5:00 until 5:30 P.M.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 6:00 P.M. at Old Fellowship Baptist Church with Dr. Reland Morgan officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Dickerson, Gilbert Tillman, Willie Fail, Jimmy Hagan, Robert Shuman, and Daniel Shuman.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Ray Stalcup, Junior Brown, Hank McKinney, and Scott Gregory.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
