Kathy was born and raised in Statesboro and graduated from Statesboro High School in 1975. She went on to attend Swainsboro Technical College, where she received a certificate in business administration and also received her certificate as a medical transcriptionist from Georgia Southern University. She worked as a medical transcriptionist with Dr. Douglas Hanzel in Savannah for more than 11 years and had also worked in the office of Blanchard Equipment Company for many years, as well as, Georgia Farm Bureau. Kathy was a faithful member of Hubert United Methodist Church, where she served as a bible school leader and Sunday school teacher. She also was very active in the Parent Teacher Organization at Stilson Elementary School, when her children attended there. Kathy was an avid supporter of the Republican Party and passionately supported the Humane Society of Statesboro-Bulloch County and would go to great links to reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners.
Kathy was preceded in death her father, Robert Edward Lanier.
She is survived by her daughter, Jincey Davis Botwinski and her husband, Lawrence of Pooler; son, Mitchell Brandon Davis and his wife, Mindy of Brooklet; mother, Dorothy Mae Lanier of Statesboro; brother, Randy M. Lanier and his wife, Donna of Statesboro; grandchildren, Tripp Botwinski, Maddux Brandon Davis, Madelyn Anderson Davis and her fourth grandchild due in September; fur babies, Koby, Kiki and Baby; several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 4:30 to 6:30 PM Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, July 23, 2018 in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Pete Wall officiating.
Burial will follow in Brannen Cemetery.
