

Larry was a native of Swainsboro and grew up in Statesboro graduating from Statesboro High School in 1968 and resided most of his adult life in Savannah. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed drag racing in his teenage years and loved horses and horseback riding. He retired as a well driller after 20 years of service, working for Layne-Atlantic Well Drilling and Rowe Well Drilling. Most recently he was a truck driver with Floyd Concrete Co., of Savannah. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grover C. Brinson, Sr. and Maude Bennett Brinson; parents, Roscoe and Winnie Brinson Ellison and his uncle who raised him, after his father’s death, Thomas C. Brinson.
Larry is survived by his partner and best friend, Sissy Buttimer, Savannah; sons, Pasquinel Christopher Ellison (Crystal) and Shane Jason Ellison (Amy) all of Effingham County; daughters, Autumn Ellison Chapman (Steve), Milledgeville and Trinity Ellison Miros (Stephen), Effingham County; sister, Pamela Ellison Stewart (Johnny), Statesboro; aunt, Iver Cox Brinson, Statesboro; 2 first cousins, Joyce Brinson Rogers, Statesboro and Claudia Brinson Hagan, Sylvania; 11 grandchildren and several other cousins and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, October 19, in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Newman Samples and Reverend Joe Eason officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 10:00 AM Saturday until the funeral hour.
Burial will be in the Bennett Family Cemetery in Millen.
