Lendward Fail

Mr. Fail was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He worked for 18 years with Continental Can Corporation as a tree farmer, worked as a mechanic with the Massey Ferguson Company for many years and was a farmer, working his land until he was 87 years old. Mr. Fail was a loving and devoted husband and father, who enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed being in the outdoors tending to his vegetable garden and his chickens. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Elizabeth Wilkerson Fail, brother, Osey Fail, son, Willis Edward Fail, sons-in-law, David Barker and Jack Rucker, granddaughter, Rose Mary Fail and his wife of 63 years, Rosa Lee Brown Fail.

Mr. Fail is survived by three sons, Jerry Fail (Pam) of Brooklet; Clifford Fail (Nealla) of Statesboro and Tony Fail (Sheila) of Statesboro; four daughters, Rose Marie Barker of Brooklet; Donna Deloach (Winton); Diane Rucker Riley (Stephen) and Jennifer Sauls all of Statesboro; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, October 18, 2015 in Bible Baptist Church with the Reverend Jonathan Edmisten officiating.

Mr. Fail will lie in state from 1:00 PM Sunday until the funeral hour.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
