She was born on August 20, 1926 in Benham, Kentucky to Robert and Mary (Elliott) Harris. Mae attended school in Benham and graduated from high school in 1945. She went on to graduate from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky with an associate’s degree in secretarial science.
On November 16, 1950, she married Terrell Hale McCracken. Mae was the first women to work as a secretary for International Harvester in Benham, Kentucky. After moving to Dayton, Mae worked for the WVUD Radio Station at the University of Dayton and was active in Fairhaven Church.
She is survived and sorely missed by her daughter, Terrye Stoltz (Randy); son, Mark McCracken (Julie); grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Sara and Drew; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, June, Jay and Jean.
Visitation will be held at Hart Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky on Sunday, April 29th at 11:30 AM.
The funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00 PM.
Burial will be in Gray Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
