

Mr. Shuman was a native of Bryan County and was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He retired after 16 years of service from the Johns Manville Company in Savannah and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Shuman was preceded in death by parents, Wesley and Molly Gill Shuman; his wife, Mary Fennell Shuman and his son, Ivy Driggers.
Mr. Shuman is survived by his five children, Carolyn Sue Moore of Pembroke; Mary A. Ray and her husband, Hugh of Statesboro; Monty L. Threatt and her husband, Robert of Statesboro; Danny Shuman and his wife, Penny of Pembroke and Sandra Usry and her husband, Earl of Dahlonega; sister, Mattie Bacon of Pembroke; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 31st in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 1st in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Stanley Tyson officiating.
Burial will follow in DeLoach’s Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Threatt, Jack Smith, Mike Smith, Noah Wise, Matthew Phillips and Keith Shuman.
