Mr. Robert Louis Sladick, age 80, passed away at home January 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Sladick, a native of Imperial , Pennsylvania, served as a member of the signal corp, retiring in 1978 from the U.S. Army after 23 years. Throughout his military career, he and his family had been stationed in many countries around the world and states throughout the U.S. Upon his retirement he resided in Hinesville where he performed carpentry and maintenance for ERA Norman Realty. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cruising, travelling, spending time with his grandchildren and watching his beloved Pittsburg Steelers. Mr. Sladick was a member of the Church of Christ in Allenhurst, Ga., the VFW , American Legion and the U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Monika Bensch Sladick; sister, Francine Swoager, and brother Louis Sladick , Jr.
Surviving are daughters, Debbie Brown (Bob), of MD, Veronika Cato (Albert), Hinesville, and Dolores Baker (John), Brooklet; son, Steve Sladick, Savannah; 9 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; a brother, Joseph Sladick, Imperial,PA, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held Monday January 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Crosby officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
