Roger Neal DeFoe

Roger was born and raised in Pulaski, Tennessee, where he attended local schools. After high school he attended South Georgia College, in Douglas GA, where he continued to live for 32 years. He worked for more than 15 years with TG&Y Retail Stores, serving as a store manager and then became the hatchery manager for Gold Kist, retiring after more than 18 years of service. Before moving to Statesboro four years ago, Roger attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Willacoochee, GA and was currently a parishioner of St. Matthew's Catholic Church.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Covie DeFoe, sister, Barbara DeFoe and his brother-in-law, Kenny Stanley.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Corbitt DeFoe of Statesboro; daughter, Adrienne Leigh DeFoe-Dobbs and her husband, Chad of Statesboro; mother, Stella Lucrus DeFoe; brothers, Craig DeFoe and his wife, Brenda, Patrick DeFoe and his wife, Angie and Randy DeFoe; sisters, Linda Williams, Sonya Hayes and her husband, Ben, Donna Stanley and Myra DeFoe; many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2017 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017 in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church with Father Douglas K. Clark officiating.

The burial will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, April, 22, 2017 in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery with Father Paul O’Connell officiating.
