

Mr. Ronald E. McCrosky, age 81, died Saturday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. Mr. McCrosky was a native of Chico, Calif., where he attended high school and college. Afterwards, he served in the National Guard at Ft. Benning, Ga. His lifetime employment was with Service-Star and he remained in the hardware business until his retirement. Mr. McCrosky lived in California, Florida and later in Georgia. He was an active member of the Swainsboro Presbyterian Church and Kiwanis. He was also a charter member of the Swainsboro Wiregrass Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Previously in Statesboro, he was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, and he was active in the AARP, Senior Companions and the Food Pantry. Mr. McCrosky had a lifetime of service in many other civic organizations and churches. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Edna McCrosky.
Survivors include: his wife, Christine Coleman-McCrosky of Swainsboro, Ga.; his children, Janice (Bob) Lansford, Jess (Melissa) McCrosky, Joan (Bill) Keith, Joel (Beth) McCrosky, James McCrosky, John (Catherine) McCrosky; his stepchildren, Judy (Al) Godfrey and Larry Brown; his sister, Merlynn Tripp; his brother, Ray Tripp; and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Entombment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
