

Ruby was a native and lifelong resident of Macon and was the only child of the late Henry H. and Carrie Evelyn Caldwell Cochran. She was a member of Mable White Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She retired from Home Federal Savings and Loan, where she was the receptionist and also served as the voice of the Home Talking News. Mrs. Haywood moved to Statesboro in 2007 and was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Harold Haywood, Sr.
She is survived by her son, Sonny Haywood of Lithia Springs; daughter and son-in-law Debbie H. and Len Waters of Statesboro; 4 grandchildren, Josh Haywood and his wife, Victoria of Las Vegas, NV; Christopher Haywood and his wife, Shawn of Helen, GA; Kim Waters of Alpharetta, GA and Harry Waters of Statesboro; great granddaughter, Savannah Haywood of Carrollton, GA.
The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday, July 5 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 7, in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, in Macon, GA with the Reverend Al Haywood and Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
