

Shirley Faye Hall, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Braselton, Ga.
Always known as "Boots", Shirley was born in Nicholls, GA on November 14, 1926 to L. J. and Sarie Ann Tanner Hall and graduated from high school in Douglas, GA. Boots was part of the Greatest Generation--participating in the World War II effort by working in an Atlanta factory making uniforms for the U. S. Army.
After returning home, she worked at the Martin Theater in Douglas, married Carl Goings and moved to Ocilla, GA. She worked at the Ocilla Theater, until it burned in 1959, at which time she and her family moved to Eastman, for one year, before returning to Ocilla, where they were co-owners of a new movie house.
Boots also worked at the Osceola Motel in Ocilla, GA, before moving to Lyons to operate the Dixie Motel from 1962 to 1966 and lived there, until she moved to Hawkinsville, GA, to work in her son's medical office.
After Carl passed away, she married Paul Baughman and lived for 22 years, in Cambria, CA, until his death in 2015. Boots then returned to Georgia and has been living in the Oaks of Braselton, in Hoschton GA.
Survivors include her two sons: Daryl Lewis of Reidsville, GA and M. Keith Lewis, M.D. (Linda) of Buford, GA; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy and Diana; five great-grandchildren Nicholas, Nolan, Jake, Ryan and Alex; two sisters, Ly Vaughn (Jacquie) Hall of Cambria CA and Betty Currin of
Oxford, NC; two nephews, Michael and Kenny ; three great grand-nephews and one great grand-niece.
A private family graveside service is planned for Saturday July 29, 2017 at Forest Grove Cemetery in Nicholls, GA.
