
Shirley was born in Miami, FL and had lived in Mississippi, California, Virginia, Texas and Turkey before moving to Statesboro since 1974. She worked as a telephone operator supervisor with Southern Bell before she was married and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith, worked with the Junior Bowling League and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 90. Shirley was preceded in death by parents, Harley and Dorothy Eddington South, brother, Gary South and daughter, Julia Barber.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles “Skip” Campbell of Statesboro; granddaughters, Kathleen Brannen and Jessica Harrelson and her husband, David all of Statesboro; six great-grandchildren, Robert Brannen, Hailey Brannen, Julia Harrelson, David “Bubba” Harrelson, Jr., Harlei-Ann Harrelson and Nathan Todd.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 12, 2015 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Elder Jake Futch officiating.
Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
