Tony Larry Hendrix, age 65, beloved father, brother and friend passed away Thursday, August 7, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
Tony was born in Savannah and was a graduate of Hershel V. Jenkins High School and had lived in Atlanta, Chicago, Nebraska and Kansas before moving to Brooklet, GA seven years ago. He was employed by Great Plains Manufacturing as an agricultural equipment salesman and was of the Baptist faith. Tony was a member of the Moose Club and the Elks Club and was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman and loved cooking and telling jokes. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Darvie and Amanda Williams Hendrix, his brother, Franklin Davis Hendrix.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Toni Linette Kojis and her husband George of Milton, NY; son, Gerald S. McKay and his wife, Christine of Parker, CO; brother, James Marion Hendrix and his wife Carol of Wilmington Island; sisters, Vera Joyce Hendrix of Savannah; Betty J. Lowe and her husband Wayne of Warner Robins; Pamela Ann Stone and her husband, Neal of Wilmington Island and Collette Manes and her husband, Robert of Richmond Hill, grandson, Connor J. McKay of Parker, CO, granddaughter, Madison Nicole McKay of Parker, CO, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, August 10 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 11 in the Chapel of Hodges- Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Missy Blumenthal officiating.
Burial will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 11 in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
