

Born in Iredell County on February 21, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Israel Moore and Lessie Scott Moore.
Mrs. Moten graduated from Unity High School and worked as a supervisor at Speedball Arts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Mayberry; a brother, Gene Moore; three nieces, Toni Moore, Lisa Adams, and Jessica Ward; two nephews, Derek Ward and Thomas Adams; one sister-in-law, Delores Lobbin and one aunt, Mary Scott.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Luther Leroy Moten, whom she married on February 21, 1992; sons, Gene Thomas Moore of Stony Point, Franklin D. (Josie) Moore of Troutman and Preston (Shanice) Moten of South Carolina; one daughter, Teresa Gail Moore of Statesville; two step-daughters, Marjorie Mundy of Charlotte and Seal Firea; grandchildren, Franklin D. Moore, Jr, Gene Thomas Moore, II, Malcolm M. Moore, Oreal Moore, Marcus Mundy, Christopher Mundy and Kimberlin Mundy; great-grandchildren, Zoe Moore, Brianna Moten and Laila Moore; one sister, Mary Walker of Troutman; aunt, Camilla Scott and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 12:00 PM in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. J.C. Byers and Rev. Joe Thomas Byers officiating. The family will speak to friends after the service.
