

Mr. Allen Monroe McGee, 83, of 174 Apple Hill Rd. Troutman, died Monday, April 11th at his home unexpectedly. Born in Ieredell County on June 9, 1927, he was a son of the late Carvin Ray McGee and Pearl Wilson McGee. He was a retired sewing machine mechanic from Trim Systems and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Ostwalt Baptist Church and enjoyed going to Oak Island for fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Robert, Ray and Eugene McGee and a sister, Dorothy Coggins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, the former Vester Moss McGee.
Survivors include a daughter, Vickie Meadows of Sherills Ford, a grandaughter, Marty Meadows, two sisters, Nancy Lambert and Bobbie Fulbright both of Troutman and his dog, Jessie.
Services celebrating Mr. McGee's life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. today (Wednesday) at Ostwalt Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens with full military rites presented by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail.
