

Mrs. Snoddy was born April 25, 1934 in Watauga County, North Carolina to the late Conrad Denverd Hodges and Mary Lillian Green Hodges. She attended Statesville Senior High and Gaston College and was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church for over 50 years.
In 1972 Amy married the love of her life, Larry J. Snoddy. The two combined their families and had almost 40 years together until Mr. Snoddy’s death in 2008. Amy was a faithful mother to Bobby Williams, Gail Smith, the late Cynthia Williams, Kyle Snoddy, the late Kevin Snoddy, Keith Snoddy. She was also Mamaw to many grandchildren and great grandchildren and was happiest when her family was around.
In addition to her involvement at Wesley Memorial, Amy was an enthusiastic volunteer for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years and an active supporter of her husband’s lengthy career at Rubbermaid, as well as his extensive volunteer efforts at Yokefellow and Relay for Life.
Amy loved dancing, camping and decorating her home. Amy and Larry had many years dancing with the Dogwood Swingers and Dixie Wheeler Square Dance clubs and met many special friends. They also enjoyed opening their home for Sunday School parties and for their family and friend’s enjoyment.
Amy was an avid reader, loved shopping, especially for shoes, and could bake an excellent cake, and often did so for her grandchildren’s birthdays. Over her last seven months she shared her home around the clock with family members and a few special caregivers and made sure everyone keeping her company never went without a sweet treat before bed.
In addition to her parents, her daughter Cynthia Williams, and her son Kevin Snoddy, Amy was predeceased by her brothers, Denverd Hodges and Norman Hodges, sister-in-law Mary Anne Hodges, brother-in-law Wes Snoddy, and son-in-law Ron Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gail Smith, Bobby Williams (Robin), Kyle Snoddy, Keith Snoddy (Laura), Maureen Woodward Snoddy; her grandchildren Jason Harwell (Jennifer), Joshua Harwell (Vicky), Jessica Owens (Mark), MaryGrace Wasik (Tim), Madeleine Mathews (Ben), Ashley Scarborough (Ryan), and Christine Carroll (Justin); her great grandchildren Chloe Owens, Noah Owens, Lillian Owens, Annabelle Wasik, Amelia Wasik, Anderson Wasik, Archer Wasik, Lincoln Mathews, Maeve Mathews, Jaden Harwell, Saylor Harwell, Riley Carroll, McKenley Carroll, River Carroll and Mikie Scarborough; sisters-in-law Jean Hodges and Doris Snoddy; and several cherished nieces and nephews, including Debbie Hodges Overcash who was extremely devoted to Amy in her final days.
A visitation will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 14 at Wesley Memorial and funeral services will be conducted immediately after at 11 am with the Reverend Dan Money officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jason Harwell, Joshua Harwell, Mark Owens, Noah Owens, Tim Wasik, and Ben Mathews. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is serving the family.
