Anne Wilcox Wooten

Mrs. Anne Wilcox Wooten, 64, of 251 Swann Rd. Statesville, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born in Iredell County on February 21, 1949, she was a daughter of the late James Burley Wilcox and Pinkey Christie Wilcox. She was raised by her late aunt, Mary Isadora Wilcox Dishman, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen Wilcox, Noah Wilcox and Sherman Wilcox and two sisters, Gerthie Wilcox and Melvine Wilcox.

On July 18, 1970, she married Mr. Robert (Mike) Wooten who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael Alexander Wooten, and his wife, Mayumi of Weddington, and she was the very proud grandmother of Nyla Toka Wooten. She is also survived by a brother, Garland Wilcox of Statesville and a sister, Betty Christie of Statesville, along with a sister-in-law, Denise Burgess and her husband, Jeff of Statesville, a brother-in-law, Steve Wooten and his wife, Barbara of Statesville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services celebrating Anne's life will be conducted at 11:00 Monday at the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Sunday evening at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
