

She was born August 31, 1921, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Stephen Ancil and Mamie Savannah Swaim Pardue. She was a graduate of Hiddenite High School and retired from the Dye and Lab Department of Burlington Mills. She was an active member of Monticello United Methodist Church where she was a member the Christian Adventure Sunday school class. She enjoyed quilting and was very passionate about her sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on November 20, 1999, by her husband, Fred Kinzie Meadlock, whom she married on September 20, 1942; and nieces and nephews, Sarah Pardue Jordan and her husband, Emory, and Kinzie Tulbert.
Dickie is survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Pardue Overcash of Stony Point; and her nieces and nephews and their spouses, William Pardue (Mariam), John Gilbert Pardue (Doris), Shirley Pardue White (Robert), Alma Sue Sloan (Carol), Gail Tulbert, Louise Chapple (Ricard), Rick Tulbert (Janet), Frankie Pardue Sherrill (Tommy), Jean Pardue Deal (Jack), Kay Pardue Mills, Gray Pardue (Cathy), and Jean Winkler (Bruce).
Funeral services celebrating Dickie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, at Monticello United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jill Rhinehardt officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM Saturday at the church prior to the service.
