Betty Jean Sharpe Moore

Born in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Ivy John Sharpe and Janie Mae Dagenhart Sharpe.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ivy John Sharpe, Jr., Rayford Sharpe and one sister, Delores King.

Betty was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she had served in the church nursery.

In 1953, she married Lorenzo Don Moore, who survives. They were just a couple of weeks away from celebrating 63 years of marriage.

Those left to cherish her memory along with her husband, are her daughters, Melody Moore and Cindy (Jackie) Johnson; one grandson, Galen Johnson; one sister, Rella Wilson and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at Bethel United Methodist Church with the service celebrating Betty’s life beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Naomi King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund 168 Lookout Dam Road Statesville, NC 28625.
