

Mr. Bobby Dwight Feimster, 78, of 716 Blackwelder Road, Statesville, died Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1934, in Iredell County and was a son of the late Lonnie William and Laura Woodward Feimster. He was a graduate of Harmony High School and served his country in the U. S. Army. He worked for 38 years at Southern Fasteners and at the same time was a carrier for the Statesville Record & Landmark for 35 years. He was a life-long member of Hebron Baptist Church where he was head of the ushers and a member of the Adult Men II Sunday school class. He was also an avid gardener and a devoted husband and father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Austin Feimster. Survivors include his wife, Mary Davidson Feimster; a son, Scott Feimster of Statesville; a daughter, Janet Feimster of Columbia, SC; a brother, Gary Feimster (Dana) of Olin; two sisters, Ethel Fortner (Robert) of Taylorsville and Louise Trivette of Lexington, SC; a number of nieces and nephews; and his two honorary grandchildren, Lane and Jordan Reid. Services celebrating Mr. Feimster's life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Darren Johnson and the Rev. William Wease officiating. He will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites presented by the Harmony American Legion Post 113. Pallbearers will be Scott Reid, Lane Reid, Eric Feimster, Brandon Trivette, Steve Wilkins, Jimmy Kestler, Jared Wike and Danny Wike. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of his Sunday school class along with the church ushers and Kenneth Gooden. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening (Saturday) at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home and at other times will be assembled at the residence.
